7.1, 7.2, 8.1 and 8.2 videos

How to use sources was helpful, to know when and what kind of sources for certain types of sources. I didn’t know that I can use television as a source even though it is not very reliable. It depends on what kind of information one uses to prove creditability. Before learning about different types of pattern of organizations, I thought of just using topical. For example if I were to give a speech about a famous person I would use chronological and show what happen to life in chronological order and show how they came to become who they are. I also liked spiral pattern because you use visual to explain your topic.

  1. Hello Niko!

Sources are very valuable when it comes to giving out facts and statistics in a speech. I never really realized or thought about what could be a source, like the television. I too learned that not every source can be credible, and we have to see if it is even related to the topic. Also it is good that you mentioned the different types of patterns for organizing a speech. Each one is specifically designed to fit any topic of choice, and also show what would be a better fit to give off when wanting to achieve strong presentation.

  2. I thought it was interesting that television could be a source for our speeches. I have always been aware the television can be a source, but I have never used it because I had no idea how to cite it. I also thought it was interesting how CBS is such an unreliable source because their reputation was tarnished by unreliable sources. I believe that the topical organization is the easiest to use because it breaks down elements. I believe that is how most of our first speeches, whether from high school or in college, began with the topical organization. Good job Niko :)
