Helpful concepts that helped in class.

The concept of knowing about your topic was really helpful. Before doing research I thought about how much information I already have on my topic. When I try to add it to the outline I realized that, with the general things I know, it is not enough to make a long speech. After researching my topics I felt more confident in what I’m going to say. I know that what I’m going to say is true because I used sources that are reliable. The breathing exercising was also helpful. They’re actually quite calming and helped me feel a little bit less nervous.

  1. Hey Niko,

I actually completely agree with you on that one. I tend to choose topics that I am at least vaguely familiar with because the end result might be ugly. To be honest, all of the topics that I had gone over this past year, I had some kind of experience before hand. And I gotta admit that from past experiences, creating a speech about something you know is 150% easier than one you aren't at all. For example, in 8th grade, we were required to present a history presentation, which is unfortunately my weak point and I ended up doing horribly. Then I do some speeches on hip hop culture and it completely changes. Have a good summer!
